Q: What is an affordable used SUV to buy?
I won’t be getting my driver’s license until January of 2010, but I am looking at cars to buy once I get it. I live in PA where there’s always a snow storm, so I need something with 4WD. What is an affordable vehicle to buy considering the weather conditions here?

A: Toyota 4Runner, Nissan Pathfinder

best for snow is a Subaru

Q: What song is playing in a frequently used car commerial?
Does anyone know what song is used on the 2010 Cadillac SRX commercial?
The commercial is a Cross-over ad with a silver SUV-type car, driving along a twisty road at night.
A catchy tune is playing in the background, and I’d like to know what song that is.
Could anyone please tell me what song that is?
-thanks!

Q: what all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive car/suv can I get for this price range?
Looking for a new or slightly used 2009 or 2010 vehicle. In the market for a AWD or 4 wheel drive luxury or sports car or suv. Either or please give me a list of luxury or sporty or a mix of both those please. Looking for a car with good amount of power also, and a car that has hopefully been recently redesigned or well enough re freshened.

Price up to $70,000 US including tax.

Thanks

A: For the price range, I would say look into the Audi Q7 or the Q5.

Q: SUV to be used for Off Roading?
i want an SUV that has good ground clearance and a 4WD with Low ratio Gearbox as i go off roading alot. i have made my lists but totally confused which one to buy, and also stylish interiors with updated features. The lists includes
1. Toyota Fortuner
2. Ford Endeavour 2010
3. Mitsubishi Outlander
my budget is between 20-25 Lakhs
the kind of off roading i am talking about here is 70 degrees cliff climb, muddy terrain, jungles (bushes), rocks and so on. please help me in suggesting the best one.

A: You can’t do extreme off roading without a vehicle set up for it–and the stuff you need for the unexpected emergencies. Land Rover is a great start.

Q: What would be a good first car/suv/truck?
I am 16. I want a car that can fit atleast 2 surfboards in it. So a small car won’t work. My parents only want to spend 10k or under on my first car so obviously it will have to be used. No manual, only automatic. I was looking a Jeep Wranglers and stumbled across this one : http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=264908348&dealer_id=100006940&car_year=2004&rdm=1247340658931&model=WRANGLER&num_records=25&systime=&make2=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=1997&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=50&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&showZipError=y&make=JEEP&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=0&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=92128&advanced=&end_year=2010&doors=&transmission=&max_price=9000&cardist=30&standard=false

Does it look too good to be true? (I think they made a typo, it is 55k miles not 5,500)

my dad (who knows a fair amount about cars) would check it out with me first.
Wow, totally missed that. Thanks

A: It says in the description “SALVAGE” title – don’t buy it, it might have been in an accident.

I recommend you look into Ford Fusion, Mazda 3, Ford Focus.

For an SUV, good reliable vehicles to consider are Ford Escape, Toyota Rav4, or Honda CRV. I am pretty sure you can mount special rack on the roof to hold your surfboard.

Make sure to check the carfax report and have the car inspected by the certified mechanic. By the way, Jeeps aren’t very reliable, so be careful

Q: What would be a good 3 row SUV?
Must have good resale value, great passenger space, under 40,000
and probably leather seats AND A RELIABLE COMPANY eg. Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Volvo, etc. NO MINIVANS, Must look pretty good
2010 version no used cars
MUST FIT IN A GARAGE!!!

A: The Honda Pilot is always a good choice- it’s stylish, roomy, reliable, and has really good safety ratings and resale value, so your family and investment is safe (not to say that any car is a good investment). You can get a nicely loaded one for the price range you’re looking at:

http://automobiles.honda.com/pilot/

Another popular big SUV is the Toyota Sequoia. It was redesigned recently and has a new, edgier, and more aggressive styling that is pretty handsome. Being toyota, it has really high resale value, and decent MPG for it’s class, definitely worth looking at:

http://www.toyota.com/sequoia/

It just depends on your necessities and your preferences, but both are excellent choices that fall into your price range/category. The Sequoia is a little bitter, while the Pilot is more compact, which is also reflected in the pricing. Test drive them both out and see how you feel behind the wheel of both

Q: If I get approved for a 2010 NEW Toyota Camry with 0%APR, should I get it even though I don’t want a car?
The camrys are beautiful but i’m so used to the SUV i’m driving now and my husband and I like BIG! We wanted to the Tundra but its to much a month and so are the SUV’s we want. The lady we are dealing with was working on a Tundra for us but she told us the payments are in the 400’s and I told her thats too much a month for us, so she said that we may be able to get a brand new Camry with 0% APR and it will be lower than what I was intending on paying…

If I can get a 0% APR on a brand new car, even though we don’t want a car, should we do it? The deal seems too good to pass up and plus, its beautiful, its just not big like we want…please share any thoughts you may have! thank u!
no help at all….thanks…

A: That is a great deal. If you can get a good trade than sure. If your car works fine then keep yours.

Q: What is better?buying a brand new car or a 2 year old used one?
Hello,

For the past 2 weeks,I’ve been thinking of buying a 2007 Mercedes-Benz Suv.I already have a 2008 Lexus Rx in my garage.
The car that I found is a 2007 Mercedes-Benz ML350 for $31,995.Also it has 41,203 miles on it.I could afford a 2010 one if I wanted.

My financial status:I’m single, live alone,Have $102,426 in savings, the only debt I have is my house mortgage.

I could afford both the 2010 Mercedes Benz Suv and the 2007 one.Which one would you buy?
the car http://autotrader.autos.msn.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=c&car_id=262936396&dealer_id=5859243&car_year=2007&rdm=1245514170191&model=&num_records=25&systime=&make2=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=2005&keywordsfyc=&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=16&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=25&marketZipError=false&color3=&color2=&search_lang=en&showZipError=n&make=MB&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&body_style=SUV&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=&style_flag=2&sort_type=priceDESC&address=01930&advanced=&end_year=2010&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=30&standard=false

A: I would get the cheaper car I do not care what you can afford because with one wrong move or if you get sick then you can become broke if your debt become to high so continue to be smart with your money like you have been doing and get the cheaper one if you really need it but you do not need a Mercedes Benz and Lexus This is a want not a need but the choice is yours. $102,426 is your current savings minus what debt you own is what you really have because the debt is what you have to pay out of your savings if something happen and you may become unavailable to work. Think about it anyway Take Care and God Bless

Q: What are some good all around suv/trucks that are reasonably priced?
I’m shopping for a new vehicle. I’m looking for preferrebly an SUV type vehicle or possibly a truck(with some style maybe lift) that is reasonably priced with a V6 or above. I’m actually searching for a used but will take anything from a 05-2010. I’m looking for something with some style that can rides good on the street however something rugged that can also handle it’s own offroad. I was actually thinking the jeep wrangler which is a nice rugged vehicle but I heard other than the summer especially winters that it doesn’t handle well in bad weather and doesn’t have a smooth ride on highways. I’m totally clueless so any ideas would be great.

A: The Jeep Wrangler looks cool but doesn’t offer much in the way of road manners or fuel economy. Jeep also has the Patriot and Liberty, which would be better on the road, but don’t look great. If you’re looking for style, the Dodge Nitro is a little funky. However, it’s gas mileage is not so great, and it’s interior is horrendous. I would suggest you look at the Toyota FJ Cruiser. It’s a head-turner, and is capable off road. The base models aren’t too expensive, not much more than a top of the line Wrangler. Hope this helps.

Q: Hi, is there any SUV’s out there that cost around $18000-$28000?
They can be used as long as they are from at least 2005-2010.

A: Honda CR-V
Hyundai Tucson
Kia Rondo

Q: 2010 Nissan Altima sporty?
Ok, I’m 18 years old and I’m looking at a new car to take to college. My parents want to buy a new car over used because they want something reliable with a good warranty. I originally wanted a SUV but its too impractical with gas and insurance. Out of all the sedans we’ve looked at and test driven the 2010 Nissan Altima 3.5SR is definitely my favorite. The one we are looking at is white with black leather interior. It also comes with all the premium packages (spoiler, fog lights, navigation, premium audio) so its VERY nice. The only thing that I can’t get out of my head is that the Altima is considered a “family sedan.” I know I shouldn’t base my decision off of this but as a teenager I can’t help but like something that is sporty and impressive. I really shouldn’t have anything to worry about because this particular Altima is very attractive. The coupe was also an option but I think I prefer the 4 door sedan because its just easier with friends and stuff in the back seat. I’m not trying to sound spoiled. This is a great car and if its what my parents decide on I would be very happy. I’m just looking for some opinions.

A: No one will be impressed at the look at the altima. they will be impressed, however, when you step on the gas and the V6 leaves them in the dust!

yeah the altima is a family sedan. but who cares? it has great power, (270hp) great interior, great reliability, it’s safe, and, like you said, you can fit lots of friends in the back comfortably. i’d say the car is somewhat sporty. i think it’s a very good choice

now if you want something sportier, go with the maxima. it has more power, (290hp) a tighter suspension, and it is a smaller 4 door than the altima. it also can come with all of the options you like too.

if you want something even smaller than that, there’s the nissan sentra se-r spec-v. (200hp) and yes, it too is a 4 door.

I’d also consider the honda accord v6 and the toyota camry se v6. but both of those are kinda boring. i’ve always preferred nissan for driving excitement

so in terms of fun, reliable, and roomy sport sedans, you have a lot of options. (my personal choice would be the maxima)

Q: Which one New VW or Used Audi?
I’ll be getting a new car in the next 6 months and I really haven’t made up my mind about one yet. I’ve narrowed it down to three, really.

2010 VW GTI
2010 VW Tiguan
2007 Audi A4

I really like the new GTI. Inside and out, it looks great. I drive a 2007 GTI and I really love it. But I honestly don’t want such a small car. I want to have 4 doors. I know it comes in 4 doors, but why do that to a GTI? ;p The interior looks amazing and it definitely appears really upscale with that touch screen radio, even when you don’t have nav.

Ever since I saw the Tiguan at some auto show, I fell in love with it. I don’t know why, I just think it’s amazing. It has the GTI engine in it, but I know it doesn’t deliver the same handling and fun driving experience as the GTI. But I really like the idea of having a small SUV with the giant sunroof going to the beach and stuff with friends. If I were to get the Tiguan, it wouldn’t have the leather and all of that, so I’d definitely feel a bit out of place with my friends driving their upscale cars around.

Then I thought to myself, what about a used Audi? If it’s under 30 grand, it fits my budget and I actually found a lot for under 30,000. They were mostly 2006 and 2007 models. But what worries me is the fact that it’s used. Sure it’s really nice inside and out, but is it as reliable as a new one would be. Even if it’s certified pre-owned, I’m still nervous about the whole idea of a used car.

Any insight of any kind would really be appreciated. Help me pick one! ;p

A: VW has one of the highest resale values on the market, along with Honda and Toyota, so you’re not losing much when buying new.

As for new vs used, i’d go with new. While the audi is fun and luxurious, you’re getting the same engineering pretty much, with just more power. And unless you need that power, at the cost of a warranty, it really doesn’t make much sense.

As for GTi vs Tiguan, both are very similar. like you said, both have the same engine, and both feel similar, except that the GTi is lower to the ground, which you can really feel when you go over speed bumps whiel the Tiguan is higher, which you can feel when going on the highway. Both are engineered very well, and hug the road when you drive them, and have sufficent power for the highway, and daily driving.

it all comes down to what you need, from what you’re telling us, it sounds like you’re a young college student- so the Tiguan would make sense in that it’ll give you good MPG, and good cargo room for moving for those aparment changing days.

Test drive all of them and see how you feel, you’re not losing with any of them.

Q: Buying a car in 2010 as a graduation present?
Basically, if I maintain good grades and lose some weight in the process my parents will agree to buy me a new car come HS graduation in June of 2010. Currently I’m using a 1995 Saturn SL2. It’s tough for me to start researching cause you don’t know how far a car will depreciate or not. My price range is between 15000-20000, depending on how well I do both in school and with the weight. Gas mileage isn’t a huge concern, but I don’t want it to be less than 16 HWY. I don’t want to settle for anything less than 6 cylinders. Automatic preferred. I can use a stick but I’m very poor at it. Order of what I’m looking for: Sedan, SUV, Coupe.

So what I’m asking is for your recommendations. Year, Make and Model would be nice. Oh, and whether or not it’s American, European, or Japanese, it makes no difference.

Thanks.

A: in that price range, a VW Rabbit would be a great choice for you- its safe, reliable, stylish, versatile, and fun to drive, not to mention it keeps good resale value.

But keep in mind, 2010 is two years away, many new models and concepts will be out at the time, so focus more on school, and a healthy lifestyles, and focus on the car later.

Best of luck on grades and your new weight goals!

Q: Is there a bill of rights in california for a two day return for a used car?
I got a big problem and i am wondering if i can return a USED Car from the dealership i purchase yesterday feb.6,2010 and return tomorrow feb.8,2010 and i did a research that there is a two day return for a used car..here is the detail.Does this apply to year 2010? thanks .
The protections under the new law apply to vehicles (cars, trucks, SUVs) purchased in California for personal use from a dealer/dealership. They do not apply to private sales, out of state purchases, commercial vehicles, RVs and motorcycles.

What are the protections?

1. The Two Day Return

Used car buyers now have the opportunity to protect themselves with a two-day return option. This is designed to help buyers who may not have had the time to have the vehicle properly inspected by a mechanic, for those who are purchasing a car “as is,” or for those car buyers who might have succumbed to the pressure to buy on the spot.

There are a few limits on the two-day return protection. First, the option only applies to used vehicles purchased through a dealership for personal use that cost $40,000 or less. Second, the dealership can charge you for this option (anywhere from $75 to $400, plus a restocking fee, all depending on the price of the vehicle). Additionally, the vehicle must be returned within two days, having been driven fewer than 250 miles, and be in the same condition as when it was purchased.

A: Did you buy the return option or not?

If you did not buy it, you tacitly waived the right.

No matter how many times you ask this question, the answers will be the same.

Q: Kia Sorento 2006 CRDI EX or 2010 Volvo S40?
I have an option to buy a second hand SUV Kia Sorento at 45.000 km. or a brand new car Volvo S 40. Dilemma is I never bought a second hand car. One is SUV other is compact car. One is brand new other one is used. I have seen mix reviews for Kia and I know Volvo makes quality cars. Any comment please ?

A: The S40 would be my choice.
