Q: Anyone know of any used car/truck websites to find used suv’s for sale.?
I am looking for a used suv, from a small used car company. not from a dealership.
A: carsdirect.com you can view what you are looking for..they find the vehicle…the dealer…and the financing if you need it…cool site
Q: what is the most reliable american used truck or SUV?
i’m thinking of buying a cheap truck or SUV, which cost around 3000$
i know there SUVs and trucks for sale from 1995 to 99 for such a price
i have seen many Ford trucks and SUVs as well as chevys and Doges with mileage higher than 100000
can somebody give me some good info about these kind of trucks and SUVs with such mileage?
A: Go for an F-150 from a private owner that has taken care of it and has maintenance records.
Q: Question about a used ford explorer suv?
I am interested in buying a 1996 used ford explorer that has 185,000 miles. I am hesitant because of the mileage but the vehicle is in pretty good keeped condition. Should I buy it? Its for sale for 1300.
A: You don’t get much for $1300. for peace of mind, have a mechanic
check it out, otherwise go for it!
Q: What is a fair price to offer the car dealership for this used SUV?
My husband and I went minivan/SUV hunting today with a budget of $20,500. We told the salesman our budget was only $19,000-19,500. The one we decided on is a 2003 GMC Envoy XL Sport Utility 4wd, with lots of extras. He then sat us down, and showed us a paper he printed out on this vehicle, stating the price of the vehicle, which was $18,889 and included taxes, taxes, and $399 for sales commission (yes, it actually says that). The total was around $19,800. I checked the Kelly Blue Book value with all the options our vehicle had and they value the car at $18,985. Now, this car is in pristine condition with low mileage for the year (like 43,000 miles). What do you think a fair price would be for us to offer? Will the salesman get more than just the $399 stated on the paper? It is at a Marine Chevrolet dealership in case you are wondering. We want to get the SUV tomorrow, so any answers will be appreciated. Thanks for answering!!
I am not trading in a vehicle for this one – this is going to be a second vehicle. My zip is 28546. The SUV has a 4.2 liter engine, 6 cylinder, 4 wd automatic, with a/c, pwr steer, pwr windows, pwr door locks, tilt wheel, cruise control, am/fm, dual front air bags, abs 4-wheel, roof rack, privacy glass, SLT (whatever that is), rear air, multi disc cd plyr, premium sound, front side air bags, leather interior, dual pwr seats, sun/moon roof, running boards, premium wheels, and OnStar. I am already preapproved by my bank, so I will be going in tomorrow with a check for alot more than the price of this vehicle that was given to me (but HE won’t know that, hahaha).
A: I sell used cars for a large Chevrolet dealer. It does not really matter how low the miles are. The vehicle is already 5 years old. Think of it this way, If you finance it for the traditional 60 months (5 years) Your car will be 10 years old when your loan matures.
Basically, It does not really matter what Kelly Blue book says, that is just a guide, Kelly Blue book does not write you a check or buy the vehicles.
Basically, at best, you are looking at about a $17,000 vehicle, we would sell these all day long at $16,900 or $15,900 on our lot.
If he sold you the vehicle for the $18,985, basically all said and done, your salesman just made what is called a “4 pounder” which = about a $1,000 commission to him.
Hope this helps

A: That’s easy buy you can buy a buy and sell magazine. You’ll have a lot of choices and you can ask by calling them for the history of those models you are interested in.
Q: 2000 Landcruiser for Sale: What is the best way to sell a used car these days?
Also are gas guzzling SUV’s like the Landcruiser getting better prices on either the west or east coast?
A: Well I am not sure where the best prices for suv ’s are at the moment. The best way to sell a used vehicle is to make sure it clean inside and out. Make it shine and look its best. Make sure the maintenance is up to date. If you can have the maintenance history of the vehicle. Some people would like to know what all has been done. When you advertise try more than one type. Use the paper, the internet, and post a sign in it. Always ask for more money than what you realy want for it. Most people will haggle for a deal to get you lower the price. If you start higher you can what you want and the buyer is getting a better deal than what you where asking. That makes all parties involved happy. Don’t forget the receipt and make the vehicle “SOLD AS IS” . That way the buyer wont comee back in a day and say this doesn’t work and I want my money back. I hope this helps and good luck.
Q: Auto dealer says to purchase new 2006 car over used 2002-03-04 SUV type vehicle ?
I would like to know, if have 16,000 dollards CDN coming from bank at 3 % int.
The auto dealer want to have use buy a 2006 hyndai-models car (w/warranty, he expesses so much), we could trade it in later for better value after we are done paying it
I wanted to shoot for a 2001 ford escape at 10,000 CND, purchase warranty extra 2000$. i though everybody wants SUV fro re-sale value, but auto dealer says it will break, transmission or something, because it;s old 2001 ?? he want use to start with like car, basic one cavalier, and not get the ferrari so to speak ??
what should i pay attention ? warranty ?, trade-in value ? new year ? old year w/warranty?
My girlfriend uses the 1992 honda accord, i was thinking sell for 1000 cnd, we wanted santa fee, but it was 16,000 cnd for a 2003 year ?? too much, turned it down ?
what do i do guys ? what’s important ?
A: The warranty that comes with a new car is good, but a hyundai will lose it’s value faster than the ford.
As far as I know the Ford truck engines, like the one in the escape are fairly solid if maintained.
The dealer will keep pushing the new car, because he’ll get kick backs from the factory (more money) where as he’ll only make a straight profit on a used car.
If you want a used SUV then buy one, don’t let the dealer push you into a car you don’t want.
Q: what is a good used car for a middle aged man?

A: Is he going through a Mid-Life crisis?
An SUV or a Coupe? which one…they aren’t even close to being the same thing. Does he need something functional or not?
Honda Accord Coupes are nice.
So are Honda Pilot’s, Mazda CX-7’s and Toyota Highlanders.
Q: I am shopping locally for a used car under 8000, looking for a hatchback or wagon/small suv?
Do you drive a car in the category that I am looking in, and would you buy it again? What do you like about your car, and what problems do you have with your car? I am not asking if you have a car for sale, so please don’t try to sell me one here, I am only looking for recommendations for a good car in the category I am looking in. Thanks in advance for your answers….
A: I’ve owned Honda Civics and know people who owned Toyota Corollas, these are very reliable cars that are easy and cheap to maintain and repair, and they are very reliable, a good first car for a woman
Q: Which SUV is the best?
My husband and I are looking into trading our pickup for a used SUV because our 2008 Silverado uses too much gas and doesn’t have enough room. Our concern is back seating space for passengers, saving on gas, how long the SUV will last and space for strollers and other baby things. We are buying from Ebay because they are rated for each sale. Our friends say a Tahoe is perfect while I enjoy a Jeep even though everyone tells me don’t put your trust into one. We don’t want a Ford of any kind. So our choices are BMW X5 for speed (we have a 330i and love how fast they are), Chevy Tahoe for space and how long Chevys have lasted us, and Jeeps just because for some reason I’m very attracted to Jeeps. There are other SUV types but I don’t know anyone who owns them so I don’t have an opinion.
We only have one child right now so we just need one that’s good for traveling with his baby things and our things as well as carrying passengers and saving on gas.
Your thoughts and experiences?
A: If are you willing to consider other SUV’s, I would take a look at the Kia Borrego. The Kia Borrego (a.k.a ‘Kia Mohave’ in Korea) was selected as the “Best Kept Secret” by Autobytel.com and has been named the top-rated ‘SUV $25,000-$35,000’ in the Edmunds.com Consumers’ Top Rated Vehicle awards. The Borrego earned strong marks from consumers for its overall excellent value, along with impressive power and towing capacity, interior space, visibility, fuel economy and extensive list of standard features. The Borrego comes standard with third row seating, so there’s plenty of room for your growing family. The Borrego was designed by automotive designer Peter Schreyer (who now works for Kia), former chief designer for Audi (He designed the Audi TT). Also, The Borrego received four and a half stars out of five from Edmunds.com..
Also, if you are concerned about Kia, I would not be, In 2004, Hyundai/Kia tied with Honda for initial brand quality in a survey/study from J.D. Power and Associates, for having 102 problems per 100 vehicles. This made Hyundai/Kia second in the industry, only behind Toyota, for initial vehicle quality. The company continued this tradition by placing third overall in J.D. Power’s 2006 Initial Quality Survey, behind only Porsche and Lexus. Hyundai/Kia Automotive Group is the world’s fourth largest automaker (second in Asia) and one of the Big Asian Four (with Toyota, Honda and Nissan).
In recent interviews with Toyota executives, they have expressed concerns about Hyundai/Kia and their market share. Hyundai-Kia is the only automobile manufacturer that Toyota fears – and that says something. Kia is also moving up in sales rapidly, even quicker than Hyundai due to their improving quality and design (hired the head designer from Audi about two years ago). Hyundai-Kia is the fastest growing foreign brand in China and is the largest exporter of cars in India (Hyundai has plants in both countries). Hyundai-Kia was the only major automaker to sell more vehicles in 2009 than 2008.

Q: Should I buy this car?
I’m looking for an old jeep or truck to use to drive around the US for five months camping starting November. I want a car that is already pretty beaten up so that I can drive off road or on bad roads without worry. I also want something that is decently reliable and as fuel efficient as possible but still has 4×4. I am leaning toward a jeep simply because I love the idea of being able to take the top off and enjoy the sunshine. I am not automotive-repair-smart right now but I’m interested in becoming that way between now and November.
I’ve fallen a little bit in love with the interior shots of this because of its retro-indiana-jones-beat-up appearance and probably need someone to talk some sense into me.
What do you think? It is listed for just under 5,000 on ebay.

A: Any 13-year-old Jeep that can command a price of $5,000 is probably too nice to actually take off road. There’s no shortage of 4X4 vehicles at Ebay Motors at half the price.
Q: I need a SUV= 99-02 Explorer or Durango? Had XLT but like the room in Dodge. Any used car dealers help w/QUOTE?
Looking at a Durango ‘02 SXT 75k miles for 7499,also an Explorer ‘99 E.B. 78k miles= 6995..both still high in price. I am in Md, looking for Dealers to tell me prices,,I know they mark them up and I will give them a sale,BUT , don’t want to get RIPPED on prices, looked up KBB / NADA.PLUS, auto sales r down 35% so far this year, should help me negotiate ALSO, whats a better SUV? Please no pers. opions.JUST facts
A: Dodge durangos are notorious for having rear end problems at about the 90-100k mark. Dont get either without at least a 30 day warranty.
Q: Used car purchase: Audi vs Dodge (longevity is good?) Automobile buy repair sales bmw benz mustang ford?
I have heard good things about Audi longevity, many can last until 100k miles.
What about Dodge? I am planning to buy either a used Audi or Dodge Magnum, but will a Dodge hold up well past the 50,000 mile point? I have also heard that the Dodge Durango is bad for longevity but that is a SUV unlike the sedan Dodge Magnum.
A: I don’t know if I’ve ever heard anybody refer to any recent Audi as “reliable”.
I have many clients with Durango/Dakotas that are well past 150,000 miles.
Every Audi I have ever seen with over 120,000 miles has a LOT of valvetrain noise. Audi-philes defend their car’s capabilities but they don’t deny the clatter.
The Magnum is made up of various E and S-Class Mercedes bits. Those parts should be at least as good as any Audi. I hate the 2.7 V6 in anything Chrysler makes and don’t recommend it at all. It has(had) a sludging problem, the water pump is nearly impossible to access and it’s just too damn small for a big wagon.
The 3.5 is a little better. The 5.7 is a lot better
